Pressure – The Grindstone of Greatness

“He who is of calm and happy nature will hardly feel the pressure of age, but to him who is of an opposite disposition youth and age are equally a burden.” -Plato In two days, I am presenting a 2 and a half hour class about automotive facebook marketing to potentially 150 car dealers… I am also charged with getting a website that takes 90 days to build, up in 60 days for a new open point franchise… When I return from this conference, I have Jury Duty… 3 days later, I close on my first home… The next day […]

Final Walkthrough Imminent!

Tomorrow Erin and I are going to the final walk through of our new home. Exciting for sure, but there is some anticipation. It’s really starting to set in that this will be our home for the next 30 years! While there is no question that the home is beautiful, I can’t help but think, “was there something we missed? Did we ask all the right questions? Did the home inspector miss anything?” Seeing the pictures from the appraisal and realizing that the current owners have begun packing for their move really hits home. We’re really buying a house.

Nostalgic Moment

So for the first weekend in a long time, I find myself with “nothing” that I “need” to be doing. OK so there are a thousand things I probably should be doing, but sometimes you just need to veg. So I find myself sitting on the couch with the house to myself watching of all things, Flight of the Navigator. I am reminded of a time when CGI and 1080P weren’t prerequisites to great movie making. I mean this is great stuff. Anyone in the 30+ crowd should be able to relate to this. The obnoxious little brother, the cute […]

Buying a House Sucks Pt 2

High School and college teach absolutely ZERO life skills. There should be a course on life skills. In fact, your senior year courses should all be “Life Skills”. I am responsible for the marketing budgets of a $150 million a year sales force, I have been a chief architect in some of the most advanced automotive seo and automotive social media marketing strategies in the marketplace today and yet when it comes to buying my first home, I am completely lost.

Home Inspection Complete

Had our home inspection completed today. It sure took a long time. 7 hours. It’s amazing how many things need to be checked. The house is quite unique which added additional complexity to the inspection. It’s crunch time now. Have to decide if we’re going to continue forward once the radon and other testing come back. Hopefully we won’t have to wait too long! It sure is gorgeous!

It starts…

I’m not getting on the couch! If you thought this was going to be a look at my childhood to see how screwed up I was or if my parents made me screwed up, well sorry. Did I forget to mention? I have ADHD. So there will be no rhyme or reason why I post what I post when I post it… Unless it is like this post which is explaining why I am posting what I am posting… PAY NO ATTENTION TO THAT MAN BEHIND THE CURTAIN! So I’m buying a house
