2005 Chateau Moulin Haut-Laroque Fronsac

For me, the 2005 Chateau Moulin Haut-Laroque Fronsac is not yet ready for drinking. Though it is a decent medium ruby red it is not yet showing the personality one would expect from the nose. A solid 87 points, with notes of spicy black cherry. This wine is an “experience”. The extremely ripe nose followed by equally surprising silky palette is only exceeded by the long finish of ripe tannins finally concluding with a powerful floral lift. What a way to start a blog post about wine! OK I guess I better get to the point. I just got a Chateau Lafite Rothschild for $106. Can you believe that!? OK, I know, you want to know what year… 1999.
